Smile Anyway is a non-profit organization that will provide a transitional facility for young adults, ages 18-28. After leaving the protective environment of rehabilitation, Smile Anyway will provide a structured community-based environment serving their needs using Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
The individuals will be given support to create their new sober lifestyle and approach to living. The individuals will live and work together as a community. The Smile Anyway program will provide multiple community meetings, supportive services, twelve-step support, and life-skills. Individuals will be expected to volunteer in the community and will be assisted in obtaining employment or continuing education.
To create a stigma-free environment that will enable the young adults to develop life-skills, self-confidence, build a new social network with others individuals in recovery while also providing family therapy to strengthen family relationships. With this vision young adults will develop a new approach to a sober lifestyle.
